Datacoup pays you for connecting your social media accounts like facebook and twitter then sells the data to other company. You might be thinking that it's a stupid idea since your selling your personal data for others, the data they are selling are usually the common ones like: gender, hometown, relationship status on facebook which are usually shown in public. If you want you can connect your smurf or dummy accounts just to be safe (yes, you can create new account then connect it to Datacoup). Here is the list of accounts they support for now: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Google+, LastFM, Tumblr, Meetup and Instagram.Basically, you need to set up your account first, add your PayPal account and connect your media accounts (the more accounts you connect, the higher money you will earn) then it will earn you money passively every month. The website shows the projected value of your profile, which is the price your going to get per week if your data has been purchased.
"Purchasers of data have access to a large pool of aggregated, de-identified, anonymous Datacoup user data. For example, when you start selling your data, we combine it with all the other Datacoup users' data, take out anything personally identifiable, and then analyze the large pool, looking for patterns across different demographics and other data characteristics. None of this aggregated data can be traced back to a particular individual user." -Datacoup FAQ
Note: Payouts are done via PayPal every month and there's no referral. They got a new payment provider (Stripe), you can currently get paid out
directly to your Visa or Mastercard,
*Try at your own risk.
EDIT #1: March 11, 2015 they send an e-mail that says that they are moving out of PayPal and switching to Stripe. They won't accommodate other users outside US for now.
